Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atil Bisgin, M.D., Ph.D. (born 1979) is a clinician-scientist and social leader with extensive international experience in medical genetics, translational medicine, and biotechnology. He graduated from Cukurova University Faculty of Medicine (2002) and completed Medical Genetics training at Akdeniz University (2010). He has established and led multiple Medical Genetics Departments as well as Clinical Genetics Centers, notably establishing one of the biggest in the region at Cukurova University and founding InfoGenom to train and support new NGS laboratories, design and validate novel diagnostics. He co-founded Pathern Laboratories in Istanbul, Turkiye (2022) and VariantGen in Adana, Turkiye (2024). His research and leadership span international collaborations with laboratories in the USA, Europe and the UK with hundreds peer-reviewed publications, 500+ invited talks, and involvement in multiple multi-center clinical trials and natural history studies. He has advised numerous pharma/diagnostic companies, contributed to national allele frequency databases, and led education and policy initiatives in rare diseases, oncology, and precision medicine.
